Teresa Wood was born and raised in Selma, AL.  As a painfully shy child, she quickly learned music was her favorite form of expression and creativity.

After beginning piano lessons at age 6 and singing a solo in a Christmas program in the 2nd grade, she was hooked on learning all she could about music & performing.  In middle & high school, she played clarinet in the band, sang in concert choir, and competed in ensembles and as a soloist.  It was in high school, she also found a love of musical theater, with major roles in productions of Annie and The King & I. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (vocal performance) from Judson College in Marion, AL.  After graduation in 1990, she moved to Nashville and began working in the Christian recording industry for several years.  After marriage and starting a family, she spent 11 years teaching preschool & elementary music classes at Zion Christian Academy, as well as leading worship in chapel services each week.

Throughout the years, she has remained active in her local church’s music ministry, directing children’s choirs, VBS music, singing in the adult choir, and on the worship team.  Of all the opportunities she’s had musically, her greatest joy has been found in watching children discover the joy of worshiping Jesus through music.

Teresa lives in Columbia with her husband David and their 2 dogs, Zoe & Charlie.  She has a 22 year old (soon to be married) daughter, and a daughter who went to be with Jesus at 6 days old.  In her free time, she loves going to concerts, traveling, reading, playing board games, and listening to true crime podcasts.
